American Pickers

Today I was excited to get a call from my husband to say he had his picture taken with Mike Wolfe from the show on the history channel "American Pickers".  He was driving through Amelia and saw their van and other vehicles that stopped at a gas station to meet up with other members of their crew.  He asked Mike if he could have a picture taken with him and our dog, Bailey. It is a good picture and there are others with Danielle from their office on the show and others.  He did not see Frank, maybe he was in the RV.  But, it made for an exciting morning, only to say, " I wish I could have been there"!

Correction

The website is http://www.ruralrevolutionllc.com/. Hog Wash Soap is a wonderful product, you really must try some! You will also enjoy the pictures around the farm.

This past Saturday

Speaking of the Hanover Tomato, did anyone make it to the "Hanover Tomato Festival" this past Saturday?  I know for a fact they had some great some soap under one of the tents.  Have you ever heard of "Hog Wash Soaps"?  Well I think you should go out there and check their website http://www.rural/ RevolutionLLC.com. Their soaps are being sold in various shops around Virginia and also in Savannah GA.  Their packaging also is the cutest.  Go ahead and check it out!

Hot and Humid

It is said that the tomato ripens from the heat, well, where I come from the famous "Hanover Tomato" grows on the vine.  With the weather that we will be having today and tomorrow, the tomato should ripen just fine.
Today will be a high of 96 degrees with a real feel of 105 and tomorrow also hot and humid with the temp of 102 and the real feel of 111 degrees, now that is hot.  I guess it is the humidity that makes it so hard to enjoy.  The humidity seems to get worse each year around here.  What happened to the "Sweet Virginia Breeze"?  Does anyone remember that song?
I feel lucky to live in this state as we are able to be in the mountains or at the water within an hour each way.  Plus for any history buffs, we are surrounded in all directions.
Well, off to enjoy this sweet heat!!
